gratitude...
yesterday i was grateful for coffee with Gwenno and lunch with Holly at Fiza...
today i am looking forward to preparing for Block Island and getting a mani-pedi with Holly...
a very busy day today... much to do before we head to Block Island... i thought i was ahead of the game... time consuming things got left for today and there is virtual photo salon tonight... will just have to crank it out...
i am trying to reconcile the consumer consumption i have been doing to support my feminine exploration... clothing, makeup, self care services... i try to make responsible choices... shop locally as much as possible... buy vintage and consignment goods... buy from socially responsible companies... it's a lot to keep in mind... looking my feminine best makes me really happy... hard to overstate the happiness end of things... i am in a privileged position... i have the money for the consumption... at least for now...
i wait for the national political mess to manifest locally, but so far it hasn't in a noticeable to me way... at the national level a shit show hurricane rages, but it is like we are a 100 feet down in the ocean, or whatever depth one needs to be for calm beneath the storm... when will the storm reach down to me, my family, my community?... i am privileged... i don't depend on anything other than social security from the government... there were fears early on ss would be disrupted... it still could be, but not so far...
is that the reason people in the United States are not reacting more vehemently?... individual lives have not changed enough?...
