farmers market, clothing, summary executions, duarte, family of lies, christianity, capitalism

yesterday i was grateful for jack daniels and italian sausage soup...

today i am looking forward to breakfast at odd fellows cafe and a walk...

sitting in odd fellows cafe... generally feeling better emotionally than i have been... it's a pretty day... tomorrow will be too... things to do today... farmer's market... art opening... shopping... my big payday of the month comes this wednesday and the money is burning a hole in my pocket... i have my eye on a white button up blouse, pair of jeans, and a summer dress i saw at glass onion... bit late in the season to buy a summer dress, but it is pretty and i think i would look good in it...

HCR was a bit dismal this morning... it is most mornings... apparently another venezuelan boat was blown up... three people killed... summary execution... as bad as this is, and it is bad... i fear this is paving the way to extra judicial killings of a broader range of targets, including american citizens... already 47 is trying to paint american citizens who disagree and protest as enemy combatants... one of the things that has distinguished the present moment from say duarte in the phillipines is that the extrajudicial killings started immediately under duarte... here, they are working up to it in a steady fashion...

Trump says 'armed conflict' justifies executing suspected drug smugglers

Geoffrey Corn, formerly the U.S. Army's senior adviser on the law of war, told the Times that Trump has not established the "hostilities" required for an "armed conflict" against the United States because (as the Times dryly puts it) "selling a dangerous product is different from an armed attack." In Corn's view, "This is not stretching the envelope. This is shredding it. This is tearing it apart."

i ordered a new photo book this morning... first time in a long time...

Hajime Kimura’s “Family of Lies” and “Tebajima” – AMERICAN SUBURB X

The result is a work that belongs to photography’s lyrical tradition — where the aim is emotional impact rather than factual record.

this image shared in the article on the book sold me on it...

my cousin texts me about nspm-7 from 47 suggesting that criticism of capitalism and christianity are markers of domestic terrorists…

Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence – The White House

There are common recurrent motivations and indicia uniting this pattern of violent and terroristic activities under the umbrella of self-described “anti-fascism.”  These movements portray foundational American principles (e.g., support for law enforcement and border control) as “fascist” to justify and encourage acts of violent revolution.  This “anti-fascist” lie has become the organizing rallying cry used by domestic terrorists to wage a violent assault against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties.  Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.  As described in the Order of September 22, 2025 (Designating Antifa as a Domestic Terrorist Organization), the groups and entities that perpetuate this extremism have created a movement that embraces and elevates violence to achieve policy outcomes, including justifying additional assassinations.  For example, Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin engraved the bullets used in the murder with so-called “anti-fascist” rhetoric.

it strikes me that rhetoric from the white house fits many of the conditions cited in the memo…
